The Hoboken Dual Language Charter School (HoLa) is an
award-winning school that offers a traditional core curriculum through
instruction in both Spanish and English to children of all language
backgrounds. The program utilizes the well-established immersion approach to
dual language education with a range of opportunities for creative expression
and experiential learning.
This is a part-time staff position that requires you to interact
with Elementary and Middle School aged children. MUST be comfortable and
respectful managing those under your care. Your duties will involve Recess and
Afterschool care support.
You will be taking students to and from the lunchroom to
classrooms and recess, monitoring student behavior, and ensuring student safety
and well-being. You will be overseeing approximately 22 students at a time. This
position will also require light cleanup of the cafeteria after meals.
You will be caring for students and assisting with all core
subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies) mainly in Spanish while engaging
students in activities such as playing board games, reading aloud, arts and
crafts, and park play. You’ll also escort children to and from local enrichment
Monday through Friday, 11am-2pm and 2:30 - 6pm. through the end of
June 2017. Possible contract renewal for the next school year.
- Speak and write fluent Spanish.
- Experience working with
children and verifiable references
- Be eligible to work in the US
- Pass a fingerprinting
and background check
- Live in New Jersey or be willing
- Have at least 1 year of formal work experience with children
College students working toward an educational degree are encouraged to apply. Compensation range is between $12.00 - $15.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
