HoLa Lunch Program

HoLa has partnered with Nu-Way Concessionaires for the 2012-13 school year.

The single most important thing that Nu-Way is doing right now is making sure that we are one of the healthiest school food service providers in the country. We always make sure that the schools we serve have plenty of healthy and wholesome meal choices to choose from. Here is a list of a few things Nu-Way does to make sure your children have a healthy breakfast and lunch.

  • We use only whole grain bread products
  • We do not allow any trans fats in our food products
  • We only use grade A fruits and vegetables
  • We use only baked snacks and have heathy vending selections
  • All milk is 1% and All Juice is 100% Fruit Juice

All of our menus are nutritionally balanced Nu-Way’s West New York Memorial High School has become the only school in the country to receive the gold national recognition award from Bill Clinton’s Alliance for a heather generation.

HoLa Nutrition Policy

Like many Americans, we are concerned about obesity and other outcomes of poor nutrition in our nation’s school-aged population.  Studies have shown that a poor diet and a lack of exercise in childhood have negative impacts not only physical health throughout the lifespan, but also mood and the ability and motivation to learn.  HoLa seeks to promote lifelong healthy eating habits in our children through a wholesome nutrition policy that informs our school lunch program and our rules and recommendations for food brought to school by children and their parents and caregivers.  Click here to download the complete HoLa Nutrition Policy.
